I've been writing government officials in the State of Louisiana about our sewage infrastructure long before The Hard Rock Hotel Collapse in New Orleans. This problem is no longer just affecting our citizens and tourists, it's now affecting large corporations. This is going to be a long law suite.
Awhile back, I was out and met one of the lawyers on The Hard Rock Hotel case. I told him that I knew Louisiana was not providing funding for the broken pumps in New Orleans as a population control tactic. The truth is that when a deadly hurricane strikes, the wealthy evacuate and the poor stay. Less poor people, less tax money spent on food stamps, medicaid, and all of that. The lawyer was extremely bothered. He just kept shaking his head back and forth and repeating the words "but the good Lord.." over and over again. Needless to say, I shocked him. Sometimes, the truth hurts though.
I've learned that sometimes in order to make a difference, you have to shake things up and shock people. This is why Rosemary and I headed down to Bourbon Street to speak with the masses. We urged citizens and tourists of New Orleans alike to only flush their toilets once every 24 hours to aid in the drainage of fluid buildup underground, which I believe was the root cause of The Hard Rock Hotel Collapse.
